Since STAM was established in 2004 the following are the major achievements:
- It is the mother association representing seed industry in Malawi
- Training members and agro-dealers on important topics such as seed technology and agribusiness management
- Organisation of annual conferences since the year it was established (2004)
- It is a member of Africa Seed Trade Association (AFSTA)
- STAM coordinates seed programs and projects in the country
- It is an important stakeholder and participate in seed and related policies
